420 Friendly Lodging in Washington State

Cannabis tourism is just getting started in Washington State and is predicted to grow rapidly in the coming months hence visitors and residents alike are now looking for accommodations that allow for cannabis use on the premises. Similarly to Colorado, many commercial hotels are still smoke-free and those that do allow smoking only have a small percentage of smoking rooms available. There are, however, a larger selection of private residences that have more liberal smoking policies that we encourage our readers to check out.

Below you’ll find a curated directory of the current 420-friendly lodging options in the state. We’ve created bios as well as reviews of what makes each accommodation unique and you’ll find all of the rules/stipulations regarding smoking in each of these. We highly recommend that you double check the policies of each establishment before making a reservation.

If you know of a 420-friendly accommodation that isn’t listed here or you would like to claim/adjust your own listing, please contact us.

Bacon Mansion Bed and Breakfast

About / Bio

The Bacon Mansion is located on Seattle’s Capitol Hill in a historic district just two blocks from the Broadway Business district. We have 11 guest rooms, 9 of which have their own bath. We have large public rooms on the main floor and a patio.

Smoking is permitted only on the outside porches or patios, please. Doors and windows should be closed to house if you are standing near or under them.

The house is generically considered medieval and the design is Tudor. Mr. C. Henry Bacon was the first owner of the house and occupied it as his primary residence until his death in 1949. The house still bears his name. Although Mr. Bacon’s wife survived him until approximately 1961, the family sold the house in the late 1940’s and are the last single family that we know of to occupy the house.

The Bacon Mansion has a foyer, living room, dining room, butler’s pantry, and library. I believe I am the fourth or fifth owner. I am striving to restore the house to its original condition, someday redoing the living room and dining room. I continue to operate the “bed and breakfast” and make the house available for private parties and receptions.

Why we like it

In one of Seattle’s nicest and most central residential neighborhoods, the Bacon Mansion is fun, historic, classy living. Edibles are permitted and the porches and the patio, where smoking is allowed, are 420 friendly.

Capitol Hill itself is one of the more progressive and 420-friendly areas of the city, and features lots of great high activities, such as walking around nearby Volunteer Park or shopping and bar-hopping on funky Broadway.

The Mansion itself is beautifully maintained and serves complimentary breakfast, along with coffee and tea. Most guest rooms have private baths, though some share.

Bed Baked and Beyond

About / Bio

“Bed Baked and Beyond: Cherry Hill” is an elegant, yet eccentric 1903 Victorian guest-house, run by wives, Melissa and Abil: A chef and a professional beer appreciator. There are many commonrooms to enjoy. Relax in the parlor, or the Lounge-room, two social rooms with very different vibes. Enjoy complimentary food and beverages in the formal dining room. Peruse our vinyl collection–our turntable works really well and KEXP is tuned-in on the dial. We have WIFI, and two hot-water heaters!

This newly renovated home has several outdoor smoking options: The front porch is perfect for watching the world float by in a by-gone-era sort of way; the backyard offers a kicked-back, smoking haven in lawn-chairs or lying in a field of daisies; there is a pic-nic table next to the fire-pit where you can light up with a burning stick, sit back and tell stories next to a crackling fire; and the “Pot-ting Shed” is, well, it’s a potting shed turned outdoor, under-cover smoking lounge, (This amenity will be ready by late-summer 2014). All smoking is outside. Guests are welcome to use edibles.

The Bay Window Room is a harem-like suite with an enormous, sexy bed, cloaked in reds and golds, with direct TV and a private bathroom. Romantic and whimsical–just like the owners!.

Why we like it

The charming Bed Baked and Beyond is located in one of Seattle’s historic Central District, a great location for 420 enthusiasts looking for a low-key time but still close enough to all the action. The house is a quick walk away from one of Seattle’s only recreational marijuana stores, Uncle Ike’s Pot Shop. After buying some goodies, guests can relax outdoors by the picnic table or fire pit. Of course, Seattle is known for its rain, so there is the “Pot-ting Shed,” a converted smoker’s lounge, for indoor enjoyment.

In the Central District, guests can enjoy a few bars and some good eats (try Ezell’s world famous fried chicken) but are a quick bus or cab ride away from downtown Seattle sightseeing and partying on Capitol Hill.

As another added bonus, hosts Melissa and Abil serve a fresh continental breakfast every morning. Melissa is a chef and can cater a dinner during your stay; Abil leads craft brew tours at local favorite Pike Brewing Company, and can schedule a tour during your stay and recommend the best craft brews in the Northwest.

1899 House B & B

About / Bio

115 years in the making. Built for the third mayor of Spokane, WA, in 1899. The Powell Mansion housed Edward Louis, wife Dora Powell and their 5 children.

In-bath suite with Jacuzzi tub. Ridiculously comfortable Queen bed, with choice of flannels or 300+TC sheets, WIFI, library, & coffee/tea service.

Washington state is 4/20-friendly. We permit smoking of cannabis and tobacco products only outdoors, on the front porch, and side garden/patio area with the consent of the other guests.

Why we like it

Live like a king – or, at least, a turn of the century mayor – at Spokane’s 1899 House. The common eras, which include a fireplace, chandeliers, and comfortable couches are a throwback to another era, but rooms have been updated to include their own jacuzzis and very comfortable beds.

The 1899 House isn’t outdated in its acceptance of cannabis either, and guests are allowed to smoke on the side patio or front porch. Hosts Louie and Gillian will ensure your stay is comfortable, but if you want to see the place for yourself before booking, be sure to check out the virtual tour on their website.
